JOHN M. MILLS: You get a unique combination in this office of not only good attorneys--I think we're competent and on the cutting edge in terms of new developments in the law. But also, all the lawyers here have real-life experience that makes us particularly effective in talking to a jury, having a jury understand your case, understanding what you've been through in a way that is really going to be compelling. Our firm handles a wide variety of cases. We do almost all of the typical trial cases that you might think of as a--for a trial firm, motor-vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, medical malpractice. But we've also just by our life's experience and living and working in this area have developed practice that is a little different than some firms in that we've had several cases involving cyclists. And we have represented several people that were really injured in bicycle accidents. I first decided to become an attorney at a young age. I was the first person in my family to go to college, let alone go to law school. My dad had a very severe injury when I was young. He was the captain of an oyster boat. He fell and crushed two of his vertebrae in his back. And he unfortunately had a lot of trouble with workers' compensation and getting compensated. I felt with that experience that he was really wronged, that I wanted to get into something that would help people through the legal system. And that naturally lent itself to becoming a trial attorney after I was in law school. And I decided that would be the best way to have a direct impact with a person like my dad. And I can say over the years that I have had several cases where I really have been able to make a difference. And I find it rewarding. Although there are lots and lots of lawyers out there, I've been doing this a long time. And I know that there aren't that many who really get what a case is about and really know their client. And that affects the end product because, unless you really get to know the client over the time that you're handling the case, then you don't know the person. And you're almost just meeting them for the first time right before the trial starts. You're never going to be able to communicate to a jury what they've been through unless you really know the person. And we know every one of our clients.
